A Worshipping Community bearing Witness to the Love of Christ in the World

It may seem strange that many people find themselves asking questions about life. What’s it all about?. But then as spiritual creatures why not see if there are spiritual answers, answers that are not visible on the surface?
For some childhood memories bring back the boredom of endless sermons and painful wooden pews. To help out, Christchurch Baptist Church offers a number of activities that are much more fun and comfortable for those who don't see themselves going to church services.
‘Second Sunday @ 7’ and ‘Last Sunday Late’ events events are held on the second and last Sunday of every month at 7:00 PM and last about one hour. They cover a ‘life’ topic of interest, using drama, video, music and interviews and the church building is converted into a cafe bar for the evening. In addition, on other Sunday evenings there is the ‘Alternative Worship Experience’, an informal time of lively worship and prayer.
Becoming a Christian is straight forward. Christians believe the Bible is God’s word to humanity. The Bible says that if you confess, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans chapter 10 and verse 9) - that’s it! Consider the illustration below and pray the prayer.
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom. 6:23)
Man is destined to die once, and after that to face [God’s] judgment (Heb. 9:27)
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. (1 Pet. 3:18)
Whoever hears my word [the word of Jesus] and believes him who sent me [i.e. God] has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)
Prayer
Lord Jesus I’m sorry for all the things I have done wrong.
Please forgive me. I believe you died for my sin and that God raised you from the dead.
Please come into my life. I trust You as Saviour and want to follow you with my whole heart.
