WHAT IS WASH?
Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) programmes improve sanitation by doing things such as digging wells and building latrines for the village and water filtration systems for private homes.
Samaritan’s Purse works through local partners in the countries developing & delivering sustainable solutions to provide clean water, sanitation and education in hygiene to the local communities.

WHY RON & BARRY?
Ron said: “I was stunned by the statistic that on average one child dies every 20
seconds due to water related diseases most of which are preventable. The majority

Ron describes why he decided to support Turn On The Tap. “I was privileged enough
to hold my granddaughter in my arms within a few hours of her being born. A few days
later I bumped into a charity donations collector from Water Aid and was moved to
covenant a monthly gift as a ‘thank you’ for the safe arrival of my granddaughter
and the knowledge that she would have access to clean water & good sanitation -
“That was nearly 10 years ago and subsequently her father (my eldest son) joined Water Aid about three years ago, giving up a senior position in a large American corporation, He had felt motivated to do something that would help the needy rather than the corporate business, and that really touched me.”
