Womens Ministry

We want to encourage the spiritual growth of all women, alongside building lasting relationships across generations.  Throughout the year we run informal, friendly events for women of all ages.  The events explore our Christian faith, usually with a short talk from a speaker, with opportunity for discussion in small groups or private reflection.

There is always good quality coffee, a wide selection of teas, plus fruit and pastries (sometimes Amanda's home made treats) with gluten free options too.

Every morning event provides childcare.  Children are given the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed, unstructured, play session in the main church hall.  A wide variety of activities are available for the children to explore, from table-tennis, giant volleyball, crafts, and of course snacks, all supported by some amazing dads (DBS checked and safeguarding trained).  There is no need to book childcare, but if you know you are planning to bring your children, please let Marie Delgado or any of the team members know.

Events are usually on a Saturday morning from 10am to 11.30am in the Christian Centre.  For full details of our 2019 Calendar see below.

Treasuring What We Value: exploring the treasures of God’s world and how we value them.

We are delighted to be able to welcome Jo Crocker, (Meg’s sister), wife, mother and Climate Justice Champion for Churches Together Network in Winchester.  Jo has links with Winchester University, Friends of the Earth and is currently studying a Masters in Education in Sustainability.

All CBC Women are very welcome to join our informal morning events.  Good coffee, breakfast treats, worship, teaching and discussion.  If your coming for the first time, or would just like to know more, get in touch with a member of the Sharing the Journey team (Amanda King, Maureen Bundy, Elaine Baker, Marie Delgado, Caroline Thomas or Sarah Isaac).

Fun, unstructured, childcare is always available.  Lots of great games, crafts and snacks, supported by our DBS checked dads.  No need to book, but if you can, please let Marie Delgado know if you are bringing children.

Note: This event coincides with Kevin Thomas' 50th Celebration cinema trip, but we can reassure women we will be finished in time for you to collect children and dads from the Regents Centre once the film has finished.

Women & Family Day Out, Wintershall
We are excited to share our plans for a CBC Women and families day out on Saturday 22nd June 2019 to the outdoor performance of 'The Life of Christ' on Saturday 22 June 2019.  Bring a picnic and rug, to watch over one hundred actors bring the story of Jesus to life, in an open-air epic production in the grounds of the Wintershall Estate, Guildford, Surrey.

Saturday 22nd June 2019, 10am to 3.30pm (plus travel time)

Ticket Prices
Group Discounted Ticket Prices:
Adult: £18, Children: £8.55, Senior Citizens: £16.20, Family (2 adults+2children): £45

How to purchase your Tickets
If you wish to purchase your tickets, please place the exact money for the full cost of the ticket[s] in an envelope clearly marked with your name, type of ticket, and number of tickets required.  To take advantage of group discount prices, we are making a group reservation for CBC Women and their families.  The deadline for this group purchase is Monday 25th March 2019. (This deadline will ensure we secure tickets for the popular Saturday performance).  Requests for tickets after this date must be made directly with the Wintershall Estate www.wintershall.org.uk  or 01793 418299.

We will not be organising group travel by coach.  Individuals are required to make their own travel arrangements.  We encourage car sharing where possible.  If you wish to attend and are unable to arrange travel, please speak to a member for the team, before purchasing your tickets.  We will arrange a meeting place at the Wintershall Estate for those that wish to sit together as a group.

We have been advised that this performance is suitable for children of secondary school age and over.  The performance is outside in the natural environment of the beautiful Wintershall Estate.  There is no seating or benches or shelter of any kind.  The audience is required to move during the performance to different parts of the estate, which adds to the engagement in the performance but may cause difficulty for those with mobility issues because there are no paths, and the ground is rough and uneven.  If you have any concerns, we suggest you contact the Wintershall Estate before purchasing your tickets.

For more information please visit www.wintershall.org.uk or contact Maureen Bundy, who has previous experience of this performance and the setting, via the church office.

We look forward to sharing a wonderful day out with CBC ladies and their families.
